A functional teak deck chair designed and built independently, using upcycled wood and repurposed curtain fabric. Documented with load-bearing calculations and a full construction dossier.
Most deck chairs either fail structurally over time or sacrifice comfort for portability. Sustainable alternatives at a mid-range price point don't really exist.
Mortise and tenon joinery for structural integrity, a separate notched adjustment piece to protect the main frame, and a fabric attachment system using aluminum rods — allowing easy replacement without adhesives.
